Benefits Connection Helps You Keep Track of Dental Benefits

Most dental visits are for routine preventive services. But what if you require a more extensive procedure? How do you know what is covered under your plan?

The easiest way to find out is by going to Delta Dental's online Benefits Connection. Benefits Connection provides a detailed description of your family's dental benefits.

Benefits Connection shows you specific details of your plan. It includes the basics, such as how many exams, cleanings and x-rays are allowed per year. It also shows how you are covered for more extensive procedures, such as crowns and bridgework. This gives you important information for discussing treatment options with your dentist. (Your dentist can also access your benefits information using Benefits Connection. Some dentists do this while their patients are still in the office, so they can accurately discuss the costs and benefits of each treatment option.)

Benefits Connection also identifies how your plan defines the benefit year. This is important because it determines when you are eligible for certain procedures. Some plans are based on the calendar year (January through December), while others are based on any 12-month (or longer) period. Benefits Connection also lets you see the maximum benefits for your benefit year, and how much of your benefits have been used by each family member.
