“Millions of Americans are making the difficult choice between paying the mortgage and investing in regular dental care,” said Gene F. Napoliello, D.D.S., president of the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation. Our
2010 Foundation grants provide a much-needed safety net for many children and families in New Jersey and Connecticut. Funding provides direct dollars to 24 community agencies that provide dental care services to the homeless, uninsured, and underinsured.
Managing your Delta Dental benefits can be as easy as point and click!
- Find a participating dentist - Our simple yet powerful
online tool lets you search for a participating dentist by location, dentist name, specialty, and more.
- Check your benefits online - Log in to Benefits Connection to securely access information about your dental benefits, including coverage details, claims history, and more. (Not yet using Benefits Connection?
Register
now!)
- Get a detailed description of the Explanation of Benefits
(EOB) statement - After your dentist files a claim, you (and your dentist) receive an EOB that shows how your claim was paid. We worked with dentists and members to make our EOBs clear and easy to read. We also developed this
mini-primer to explain almost every line of your EOB statement.
- Acquire an ID card - Although we don’t require ID cards, many members do request them. You can print yours right from your computer. Just
log in to Benefits
Connection, and click “Print ID Card.”
While answers to most questions can be found on our Web site and Benefits Connection (both are accessible 24/7), our Customer Service Department is available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; call 800-452-9310.
Men are more likely than women to put off regular dental
checkups, according to the Academy of General Dentistry. Here are
some reasons why it’s so important for Dad to look after his oral health:
- Whole mouth health is closely linked to whole body health. Our online
risk assessment quiz can help Dad see how health-related issues like diabetes and prescription medication can affect his oral health.
- Men are more susceptible to some oral-health-related conditions than women.
Oral cancer strikes men twice as often as it does women. Men (and women) can
reduce their risk by not smoking, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, and visiting the dentist regularly.
- Dentists spot much more than cavities. More than 120 diseases can cause specific signs and symptoms in and around the mouth and jaw. Dental professionals are often the first to
spot
symptoms of serious health problems elsewhere in the body.
There’s still time to register for the Twentieth Annual Delta Dental Classic, which supports
